The Sleeper Ski

powstash's picture

Last week when I had the chance to flex the various skis for the first time I was blown away at how sweet they really are. When looking at the finished sizes and the graphics it made me want to ski so bad.

Specs for the 176 District

As I contemplated the 08-09 lineup I got to thinking about the 176 District and the fact that aside from the name and the graphics it's not really that much like it's big brother (the 187).

For starters the waist is 5mm bigger at 108 vs 103 and the tail is a full twin. More so than the 187 this ski screams of "powder/park/backcountry" and PHUN!

Problem is, nobody realizes this...yet.

That's why I'm calling the 176 District the sleeper. When I told Shane this he kinda looked at me with a "yea, ok, I guess" kinda look but trust me on this one.

Once word gets out, or rather a number of people get on that ski, it's going to turn heads and I think it will be that perfect do everything ski for a lot of people in that range.

SO, if like me you took ain initial glance at the District 176 and thought "huh, a shorter District", take a closer look. I think it's worth checking out.
