As winter sets in, the Wasatch resorts have started announcing thier opening dates. Solitude will be the leader, followed by Alta. Here's how the race is looking:

November 14 - Solitude (showoffs!)

November 21 - Alta

November 22 - Brianhead, Park City, Powder, Snowbird

December 5 - Sundance

December 6 - Deer Valley

TBD - Beaver, Brighton, Wolf Creek

Dear All,

Skis have begun to ship to customers who participated in the preseason sale about one week ahead of the delivery schedule promised at the time of the sale. However, the MR's are not 100% complete. What does this mean? It means that they will be shipped in approximately 1 1/2 weeks when they will be completed.

2 weeks ago the national weather service was showing a chance of snow, and the the Mad River Glen webcam confirmed that it had, in fact, fallen. My friend Allen and I, psyched on skiing as usual, and eager to get first tracks, headed up to Stowe to get ours. On October 3rd however, it seemed that Stowe was decidedly less lucky than Mad river. Unwilling to let the lack of snow get the best of us, we went for it anyway....
